GALSHOYAN (Manukyan) Mushegh was born on December 13, in 1933 in the village of Mehriban (now the village of Katnaghbyur in Aragatsotn region of RA). An Armenian writer. M. Galshoyan graduated from the Armenian Agricultural Institute (1957), attended higher literary courses of M. Gorky Literarure Institute in Moscow (1971). Galshoyan’s collections of short stories “Krunk” (1969), “Stones in Blossom”(1973), "The Maruta Mountain Clouds”, 1981 (State Prize of the USSR, 1981), “Bovtun” novel, 1974 (First Prize of the Writers’ Union of Armenia 1973), “Dzori Miro” novella (1983) were published. In his works the author depicted the longing of lost homeland, fair demand of the Armenians who survived the Genocide. The following films were shot based on Galshoyan’s works: Ancient drum, Bovtun, Dzori Miro. Mushegh Galshoyan died on October 15, 1980 in the village of Katnaghbyur.
