KHANJYAN Gurgen was born on January 25, 1950 in Yerevan. An Armenian novelist and playwright. He graduated from The Armenian Agrarian Institute in 1977. In 1992-96 he was the scriptwriter of the national television, in 1996-2003 the vice-editor of the journal “Nor-dar” and the editor of the journal “Satikrikon” since 2003. Khanjyan is the author of the novels “Hospital” (1994), “Get on the train A” (2002), of plays “Escalator” (1994), “Shadows on the street of puppets” (1998), “Kill the Savior”  (2001), “Send people home” (2004). He is also the author of short stories and collection of stories, of the script of the film “Symphony of Silence” (director V. Chaldranyan, 2001), TV plays and so on. Khanjian plays were staged in Yerevan, in Vanadzor, in Stepanakert and in Tbilisi.

He was awarded RA State Prize in 1998.
